Detailed Itinerary
Arrival in Nairobi
Location: Nairobi Accommodation: Nairobi Hotel / Lodge
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). You will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the city center. After a long flight, you will relax by the pool. In the evening, your guide will brief you on the upcoming 13-day adventure.

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Location: Samburu Accommodation: Samburu Lodge (e.g., Samburu Sopa or similar)
After breakfast, we drive north, crossing the equator and descending into the dry, rugged landscapes of Samburu. This semi-arid region offers a completely different scenery from the south. We arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Samburu is famous for the rare species not found in other Kenyan parks.

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
Location: Samburu Accommodation: Samburu Lodge
We spend the entire day exploring the rugged beauty of Samburu. The Ewaso Ng'iro river, which runs through the park, provides a lifeline for wildlife. Look out for large herds of elephants, lions, and the "Samburu Special Five." Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and picnic lunch in the park.

Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park
Location: Lake Nakuru Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Lodge (e.g., Flamingo Hill or similar)
We drive south, passing through the town of Isiolo and the agricultural town of Nyeri. We enter the Great Rift Valley and arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park. After lunch, we enjoy a game drive. The park is famous for its millions of pink flamingos and is a sanctuary for both White and Black Rhinos. Enjoy sunset over the lake.

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha
Location: Lake Naivasha Accommodation: Naivasha Resort (e.g., Sawela Lodge or similar)
Enjoy a morning game drive in Nakuru. After breakfast, we drive to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake. After checking into your lakeside lodge, we enjoy a boat ride on the lake to see hippos and birdlife (including African Fish Eagles). In the afternoon, we visit Crescent Island for a walking safari among giraffes and zebras.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara Game Reserve
Location: Masai Mara Accommodation: Masai Mara Lodge (e.g., Mara Sopa or Basecamp)
After breakfast, we drive through the escarpment to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The Mara is arguably Kenya's most famous reserve. We arrive for lunch and an afternoon game drive. The vast open savannahs are teeming with wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and antelopes.

& 8: Full Days in Masai Mara
Location: Masai Mara Accommodation: Masai Mara Lodge
We dedicate these two full days to exploring the Masai Mara.
Day 7: Explore the different sectors of the park. Between July and October, witness the Great Migration river crossings. Optional visit to a Maasai village.
Day 8: Early morning game drive to spot predators returning from the hunt. Relax at the lodge during the heat of the day. Afternoon game drive towards the Mara River.

Masai Mara to Amboseli National Park
Location: Amboseli Accommodation: Amboseli Lodge (e.g., Kibo Safari Camp)
We depart the Mara early and drive back to Nairobi for lunch, then continue southeast towards Amboseli National Park. Arrive in the late afternoon. If the weather is clear, you will see Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, towering over the park.

Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Location: Amboseli Accommodation: Amboseli Lodge
A full day of game viewing in the shadows of Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants. We will visit the Observation Hill for panoramic views of the swamps and the dry lake bed where dust-devils play. The dust in Amboseli turns the elephants red, giving them a distinct appearance.

Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park
Location: Tsavo West Accommodation: Tsavo West Lodge (e.g., Kilaguni Serena or Ngulia)
After breakfast, we drive to Tsavo West National Park. The park is rugged and hilly. We visit the Mzima Springs, a series of natural springs with clear water teeming with hippos and crocodiles. We may also visit the Shetani Lava Flow, a black lava flow from a past volcanic eruption.

Tsavo West to Tsavo East National Park
Location: Tsavo East Accommodation: Tsavo East Lodge (e.g., Voi Safari Lodge)
After an early morning game drive in Tsavo West, we cross under the highway into Tsavo East, Kenya's oldest and largest park. The park is famous for the "Red Elephants" (colored by the park's red dust). We enjoy a game drive and check into our lodge. The landscapes here are open and semi-arid.

Tsavo East to Nairobi or Mombasa
Location: Tsavo East to Nairobi/Mombasa
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Tsavo East. After breakfast, we depart for Nairobi (approx. 5-6 hours drive) arriving in the early afternoon for drop-off at the airport or hotel. Note: If you are extending your holiday to the beach (Mombasa/Diani), we can drop you off at your beach hotel instead of returning to Nairobi.
