Location: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park Accommodation: Amboseli Safari Lodge

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport early in the morning. We drive south towards the border with Tanzania to Amboseli National Park. The drive is scenic, passing through local markets and Maasai homesteads. Arrive in time for a delicious hot lunch at your lodge. After lunch, relax before embarking on your first afternoon game drive. As the sun sets, the clouds clear to reveal the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, providing a stunning backdrop for your wildlife photos.

Wake up to the sights and sounds of the African bush. After breakfast, we head out for a full day of game viewing. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of free-ranging elephants. Your guide will take you to the swamps and marshes where buffalo and hippos wallow, and to the open plains where cheetahs hunt. We will have a picnic lunch in the park overlooking the observation hill. In the afternoon, you can visit a Maasai village to learn about their rich culture and traditions (optional).

Location: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Lodge

After breakfast, we depart Amboseli and drive north towards Nairobi. We will stop for lunch in Nairobi before continuing to Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is a sanctuary for both the Black and White Rhino and is home to the endangered Rothschild giraffe. We arrive at our lodge in the late afternoon. Lake Nakuru is also famous for its millions of pink flamingos that often turn the lake into a pink carpet. Enjoy an evening game drive or relax at the lodge.

Location: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara Game Reserve Accommodation: Masai Mara Safari Lodge

After an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru and breakfast, we drive down the floor of the Great Rift Valley. We ascend the western wall of the valley and head into the Masai Mara Game Reserve. We arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is famous for its exceptional population of big cats and the annual migration of zebras and wildebeest. We check into our lodge situated within or near the park for dinner and overnight.

We dedicate these two full days to exploring the vast savannahs of the Masai Mara.

Game Drives: We set out early in the morning and late in the afternoon when the animals are most active. You will search for the Big Five and witness the predator-prey interactions.

Migration (Seasonal): Between July and October, the Mara is home to the Great Migration. You may witness millions of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River from Tanzania.

Optional Hot Air Balloon: On one of the mornings, you have the option to take a hot air balloon ride over the plains, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush (additional cost).

Cultural Visit: Visit a Maasai Manyatta (village) to witness their traditional dancing and way of life.
