Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast in Arusha, we drive to Tarangire National Park. Located just two hours from Arusha, this park is famous for its spectacular landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees and massive termite mounds. The park is home to massive herds of elephants that number in the hundreds. We enjoy a full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch inside the park. In the late afternoon, we drive to our campsite or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay under the African stars.

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we begin our journey towards the Serengeti. We drive through the misty highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending onto the vast Serengeti plains. The landscape here is dramatic and endless. We enjoy an en-route game drive as we head towards our camp, watching for lions, cheetahs, and giraffes along the way. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the Great Migration as the herds move across the plains.

We dedicate the entire day to exploring the Serengeti National Park. You have the option of an early morning game drive to catch the sunrise and the predators returning from their nocturnal hunt, or a full-day drive with a packed lunch deep in the bush. The Serengeti offers unrivaled wildlife viewing opportunities. Your expert guide will take you to areas known for high concentrations of game, from the "Simba Kopjes" (pride rock) to the hippo pools.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Location: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
We wake up early for a final game drive in the Serengeti to catch any animals we might have missed. After breakfast, we drive east to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a half-day tour. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage site and acts as a natural enclosure for over 25,000 large mammals. It is one of the best places in Africa to see the Black Rhino. We enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool. Afterward, we ascend the crater rim and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
