Detailed Itinerary
Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Location: Nairobi to Samburu Accommodation: Samburu Lodge (e.g., Samburu Sopa, Ashnil, or Larsens)
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel early in the morning. We drive north, passing the equator where we will stop for a brief ceremony and photos. As we continue, the landscape changes to the semi-arid plains of the Northern Frontier District. We arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at our lodge. After checking in, we relax for a bit before heading out for our first afternoon game drive. We return to the lodge before sunset for dinner and a good night's rest.

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
Location: Samburu Accommodation: Samburu Lodge
We begin the day with an early morning game drive when the predators are most active and the air is cool. We return to the lodge for a hot breakfast. You will have time to relax at the lodge, perhaps watching crocodiles basking by the river from the terrace.
In the afternoon, we set off for another extensive game drive. The Ewaso Ng'iro river is the lifeline of the park, attracting herds of elephants, lions, leopards, and countless water birds. We will specifically look for the "Special Five," which are unique to this region. In the evening, you may have the opportunity to visit a local Samburu village (optional) to see their traditional dances and way of life.
