Detailed Itinerary
Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, we leave Nairobi and drive west, descending into the Great Rift Valley. We stop at the viewpoint for panoramic views of the valley. We arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we enjoy a game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its millions of pink flamingos and is one of the best places in Kenya to see the endangered White and Black Rhinos. We return to the lodge for dinner.

Lake Nakuru to Lake Bogoria

After breakfast, we drive north to Lake Bogoria National Reserve. This park is a hidden gem. The landscape is dominated by the lake, which is often carpeted with thousands of pink flamingos. We will explore the geothermal area to see the spectacular hot springs and geysers erupting, surrounded by the steaming earth. We may spot kudus and impalas in the surrounding bush. We stay at the famous Lake Bogoria Hotel with its views of the lake.

Lake Bogoria to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, we drive to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake. We check into our lakeside resort and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we embark on a boat ride on the lake to see families of hippos and a variety of birdlife, including the African Fish Eagle. Following the boat ride, we take a short boat ride to Crescent Island, a private sanctuary. Here, we enjoy a walking safari among giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and impalas—there are no predators here, so it is a unique, safe walking experience.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, we drive south through the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The drive offers scenic views of the rolling plains. We arrive at our lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, we head out for our first game drive. The Masai Mara is famous for its vast savannahs and incredible density of wildlife. We search for lions, cheetahs, elephants, and the large herds of wildebeest and zebras.

Full Day in Masai Mara

We dedicate this entire day to exploring the Masai Mara. You have the option of taking a packed picnic lunch to maximize your time in the bush, venturing deep into the reserve to find the elusive leopards. Between July and October, you may witness the dramatic Great Migration river crossings. In the afternoon, you can choose to visit a Maasai Manyatta (village) to learn about their culture (optional).

Masai Mara to Nairobi
Location: Masai Mara to Nairobi
Wake up to the sounds of the African bush. Enjoy a final early morning game drive to catch the sunrise and the predators returning from the hunt. After breakfast, we drive back to Nairobi, stopping in the town of Narok for a break. Arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
