Arusha to Serengeti National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha at 7:00 AM. We drive west towards the Serengeti National Park. The journey takes us through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and offers scenic views of the highlands before descending onto the Serengeti plains. We enjoy an en-route game drive as we head to our camp, spotting zebras, wildebeest, and gazelles along the way. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration herds. We arrive at the campsite in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

After breakfast, we set off for a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. The park is massive, covering 14,750 square kilometers. We will drive to the "Kopjes" (rocky outcrops) which are favored by lions and cheetahs. You can choose to take a picnic lunch to stay in the bush all day or return to the camp for a hot meal. The Serengeti offers an unrivaled opportunity to see the circle of life in action, from the hunt to the migration of millions of wildebeest.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Enjoy an early morning game drive to catch the predators returning from the hunt. After breakfast, we depart the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim. We will make a stop at the Olduvai Gorge (optional), the "Cradle of Mankind," where the famous Leakey family discovered ancient fossils. We arrive at Simba Campsite on the crater rim in the late afternoon. The view from the rim looking down into the crater is spectacular, and you can often see zebra and buffalo grazing near your tent.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Location: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
We wake up early on the Crater Rim (it gets very cold here!), eat breakfast, and then descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor is home to over 25,000 large mammals, including the endangered Black Rhino. We spend the morning on game viewing, exploring the Lerai Forest and the hippo pool. After a picnic lunch near the lake, we ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
