Detailed Itinerary
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Location: Entebbe/Kigali to Bwindi National Park Accommodation: Budget Community Camp / Lodge
Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from your hotel in Entebbe or Kigali. The drive is a spectacle in itself, taking you through the rolling hills of the region. Depending on the route (Kigali is often faster for 3-day trips), you will cross the border into Uganda.
As you approach Bwindi, the landscape changes to dense, mist-covered jungle. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorilla population. You will arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon in time for dinner and a briefing on the next day's trek.

Gorilla Trekking Adventure
Location: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Accommodation: Budget Community Camp / Lodge
Wake up early to the sounds of the jungle. After a hearty breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing. You will be assigned to a gorilla family group of up to 8 people based on your hiking ability.
Accompanied by expert rangers, you will hike into the forest. The trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night. The hike involves steep, muddy, and sometimes slippery terrain, but the reward is worth every step.
Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend exactly one hour observing them. Watch the Silverback keep a watchful eye over his group, juveniles play in the trees, and mothers groom their young. It is a humbling, emotional, and exclusive experience. After the trek, you return to your lodge for a celebratory lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you may take a community nature walk.
